When I’m Gone Abbi Glines (Rosemery beach #10)

Mase Colt-Manning has always preferred his humble life as a Texas rancher to his birthright as the son of a legendary rock star. In fact, he rarely visits his father’s rarefied world in Rosemary Beach, especially if it means bunking at his vile half-sister Nan’s house—until one visit leads to a chance encounter with a young, gorgeous house maid who awakens him with her off-key but spirited imitation of a country music star…

Reese Ellis finally has her freedom. After escaping a lifetime of abuse from her parents and classmates for an undiagnosed learning disorder, she seizes the opportunity to be a house maid to some of the richest families in Rosemary Beach. But her job is in jeopardy when she causes an accident at the home of her most important client, Nan Dillon. When a hot, half-naked stranger with a cowboy’s swagger comes to her rescue, she’s intrigued—then afraid once he shows his own interest. Reese has never met a trustworthy man in her life. Will Mase be any different?

Oh Mase….. What an absolutely great specimen of a man. He is all Alpha, but not afraid to show his softer side. He gives his time to his friends whole heartedly and when ‘The One’ comes along – well nothing can stop him.

Reese was a sweet girl, had a crap childhood, dreadful guardians because they were not parents!

Glad she end up in Rosemary Beach, after all if all the rich kids kept marrying the other rich kids, what a dreadful place Rosemary Beach would turn into. New blood is a godsend to that place. The newcomers breath new life into Rosemary Beach.

If there were ever two people so right for one another, it was definitely Mase and Reese.

Now don’t get me wrong, Rush & Blaire; Grant &Harlow; Woods & Della and now Tripp & Bethy are all perfect for each other too. It was the best to catch up with them all, the girls are who you want as your ‘besties’ and the boys, well apart from all being Adonis’s are really great guys to.

Mase & Reese also fall into the same categories as the others, but they are destined NOT to live in Rosemary Beach. I loved how Reese tried to spare her feelings by trying not to fall for Mase, but NO way was that going to happen. He was her Guardian Angel, she just didn’t know it yet.

Mase was a goner, when he was rudely awoken by the cleaner, he immediately wanted to help her, even if his first thoughts were slightly lustful.

I’m glad Reese had Jimmy , what a fabulous man he is, a great friend to have in your corner. He even tried to inform Reese to guard her heart, but once he realised Mase’s feelings for Reese, even Jimmy admitted defeat.

Mase was really patient with Reese for her every stop. They were both really good for each other and when Reese flipped over the text she read, I was ‘yeah go girl! you read that on your own’ then i was ‘oh crap’ no don’t read it – too late! the damage wa already done.

For the next couple of months they both went through life existing, I was so glad for Mama Colt, she was there for Mase, but equally she was looking out for Reese.

Loved the final couple chapters, seeing how good Reese and Mase are together, then Bloody Hell!!!
