When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go as far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction.
Once their desires are out in the open they realise they have the perfect set up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.
Never ask about the past. Don’t expect a future. They think they can handle it but realise almost immediately they can’t handle it all.
I have read all off Colleen hoovers books and I have yet to be disappointed. Ugly love was classic Colleen. It highlights a heart breaking tragedy and you live it along with the characters. I can’t recommend the book enough and all for the diehard Colleen fans you are going to love it undoubtedly.
Tate is starting a fresh by moving in with her brother. Her first hurdle upon her arrival is the drunken guy passed out at her new door. Luckily he isn’t a creepy stranger but in fact Tate’s brother Corbin’s best friend called Miles. From the outset we know Miles has a deep rooted secret that affects him so badly. Tate knows better than to get involved but the undeniable attraction between them makes ignoring Miles all that much harder.
The story was told in the form of past and present. Tate’s point of view told the present day her new life and job. Living with Corbin and of course the obsession she was growing with Miles. The past was told in Miles point of view and that covered only his time six years ago and what happened to him. I must say it was hard at first about Miles and his past relationship with someone else whilst stimultaneoualy reading about his budding relationship with Tate in the present. Without a doubt had trust in Colleen Hoover and I knew there was a reason behind it. We had to live through Miles past in order to understand why he couldn’t offer Tate anymore than a friends with Benefits relationship.
Miles chapters were shorter and always ending on a mini cliff hanger. I liked both Miles and Tate as characters. You could say Tate was a fool for agreeing to get arrangement with Miles as it was clear from the outset it would never just say as sex with no feelings but Tate was well aware of this and didn’t have the power to keep her heart from falling.
Miles spent more and more time with Tate yes he was perhaps leading her on but he couldn’t not be with her. I adored ugly love only Colleen Hoover can take a friends with Benifts storyline and escalate it to the next level. There was so much emotion and depth to this story that I loved every minute
